Isah V. Red, Manila Standard Today

Located on the 22nd floor of Discovery Suites, the Serendipity Lounge is like a calm and relaxing oasis amidst the hustle and bustle of the Ortigas Business District. With its casual yet chic ambiance, and the panoramic view it provides of the city skyline, the lounge provides a most inviting place to chill and relax for hotel and walk-in guests.

The cool sounds of jazz, bossa nova and standards regale visitors of the Serendipity Lounge courtesy of the G-Sustained Ensemble Jack Lagonoy, a bassist from the UP Conservatory of Music, its musical director, Chuck Joson, a keyboardist from CEU Conservatory of Music, Romeo Marquez, a percussionist-drummer from Yamaha School of Music, Daphne Villanueva, a flutist from the UP Conservatory of Music, and Rey Sanchez, a violinist from the Polytechnic University of the Philippines.

The group fields three musical artists twice a week fronted by Yumi Anne Kutsukawa (from De La Salle University). Though young, she is no newbie in the music scene. With her enthralling voice and engaging style, she had won the hearts of many Metro jazz and standards enthusiasts.

G-Sustained performs three 45-minute sets at the Serendipity Lounge every Wednesday and Friday from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. The groupís evening performances coincides with the Loungeís Happy Hour which offers Lounge visitors unlimited local beer, gin tonic, vodka tonic, vodka sprite, rhum coke and a hearty pica-pica buffet with pork knuckles and a variety of German-style sausages for only P 650.
